While most of my friends in Spore are living it up with the rush of activities that usually comes right before the start of a new semester, I myself have been on quite an adventure. Let me start with the recent trip to China, where a great deal have been learnt, and great friends have been made.
My job in HK as a summer intern at HKUST (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) has been a godsend. I couldn't have wished for more. I was hired to take part in a camp, which is held in China, Nansha. The camp is meant to teach the participants more of the Chinese language and the Chinese culture. I was hired mainly because I have experience with children and I can speak Chinese.
The ferry trip to Nansha, just a short 80minutes ride where I took the opportunity to know the kids better.

This is where we spent 90% of the time at. Nansha Information Technology Park. It comprises of a hotel and a conference centre. The conference centre is where the lessons are held. The two buildings are separated by a big and peaceful lake. We take the zig-zag bridge every morning and afternoon to go over to the other side for lessons.

When we arrived at our rooms, we were welcomed by big comfy beds and superb window views. My roomie is this other summer intern who is currently studying at Washington. Like me, she has come back to HK for the holidays and will be her for about two months.

We stay at the suite where there is a living room and two other rooms. I stay at one of them and my supervisor stays at the other.

Lunchtime! Those in blue are the teachers from the Beijing Normal University. They are the one who teach the lessons while me and the other intern are teacher assistants.

First lesson.

The kids' performance on their last day.

My summer internship will stretch all the way till aug 15th, right before I leave for Korea on the 20th! I really think I'm very lucky to have found such a job in HK. It's already not easy to find a internship in HK, let alone one that allows you so many learning opportunities and fun!
Ther are lots more to update. Later! My cousin is asking me to stop and get out for some roadside food. heh.
p.s: sorry I haven't been replying to those who left me messages on msn! I am currently eating on my neighbour's wireless network because my grandparents' house has no wireless. The connection is weak and I'm always getting cut off the internet. So I couldn't reply you all..sorry!
